Hundreds of immigration practitioners from around the country converge on Capitol Hill each year for AILA’s National Day of Action, when advocates meet with their Congressional representatives to educate them on immigration and propose reform solutions. I managed the branding and creative direction of the event, including the logo, print resource materials, infographics for social media, and other event collateral.

#EndFamilyDetention Campaign

Client: American Immigration Lawyers Association
Objective: Recruit and provide legal support to detained women and children seeking asylum; end family detention.

See #EndFamilyDetention infographic

As conditions grow  dire in countries throughout Central America, thousands of families and children make the hard journey to the United States to seek refuge. To cope with the surge, the United States opened family detention centers. One of these facilities was in Artesia, NM, where detainees were being processed and removed without due process. AILA launched a pro bono campaign to recruit and dispatch volunteer attorneys to ensure proper legal representation, as well as raise money to offset the costs for these volunteers. While advocates were able to shut down the facility in Artesia, the fight continues to #EndFamilyDetention.

I acted as creative manager, including developing and implementing the 'Help the Volunteers' call-to-action campaign.
