Client: American Immigration Lawyers Association
Objective: Create monthly digital magazine that provides members with immigration news and practice advice.
Voice is the monthly magazine for AILA members. I led the effort to re-conceptualize the magazine for online consumption with the following goals: to develop a better on-screen user experience; to create an exclusive marketing opportunity for advertisers by offering issue sponsorships; to increase production from a bimonthly to monthly basis; and to incorporate more original art and photography.
Objective: Ensure high-caliber design and manage production of print magazine; commission illustrations and manage outside artists; process outside advertisements and coordinate pagination.
Foreign Policy, a National Magazine Award-winning publication, is the go-to source for international politics and global affairs. As the production manager, I was responsible for making sure the magazine’s visual presence matched its high-caliber journalism. During my tenure, I designed editorial spreads for the print magazine and graphics for the website; generated art ideas and commissioned illustrations; and managed all print production and post-production processes.
Objective: Compile content, edit, and design daily fashion/lifestyle page for Washington, Baltimore, and San Francisco Examiners.
Objective: Manage production of front page for daily newspaper, which includes designing graphics, compiling art, writing headlines and teases, and putting to bed on deadline.
